Each of WAS’s recreational programs emphasize the development of skill, independence, and active living through a student-centered approach. Entry-level through advanced instruction, group sessions, and equipment rentals are available for year-round programs with the option of scholarship assistance. Each individual lesson includes one-on-one instruction and any equipment needed.

Group rides and private sessions with our paid instructors take place throughout the week on the paved trails in Salt Lake City, Taylorsville, American Fork, and Provo.

All students are encouraged to utilize the robust WAS scholarship program. The scholarship application is included in the student registration forms.

Our mountain bike program includes individual lessons and group rides which emphasize safety and technique while promoting independence and confidence. Rides will take place weekly at various trailheads, including WAS-adopted Little Valley Trailhead in Draper.

Located at Tibble Fork Reservoir, the paddle board and kayak program focuses on success found in either the sitting, kneeling or standing position.

Join WAS for a virtual yoga practice led by professional yoga instructors. Rent a yoga mat, blocks, and straps from WAS!

  • Snowbird: every day of the week
  • Alta: Weekdays only
  • Sundance: Tuesdays & Wednesdays only from January-March

Times/ Rate

  • Weekday 2 Hour Lesson: 10:00 AM-Noon or 1:00-3:00 PM
  • Weekend 2 Hour Lesson: 11:00 AM-1:00 PM or 2:00-4:00 PM

Price Per Lesson: $50 (up to 100% scholarship assistance available)

Reservation Options

  • Must reserve at least two lessons for either a weekend or weekday date throughout the season:
    • Weekdays: Limited to booking 8 weekday dates at a time
    • Weekends: Limited to booking 5 weekend dates at a time
    • Wait list is available for additional days

What’s Included

  • Up to 100% scholarship assistance available
  • One-on-one adaptive lesson with a trained instructor
  • Equipment and helmet rentals for 2. Rentals must be picked up at Creekside Sports at Snowbird.
  • 1 student and 1 companion lift pass. Companions must stay with lessons and not require instruction
  • Same instructor weekly is not guaranteed.

  • 5.5 Hour Lesson: $400
    • 9:30 AM -3:00 PM
  • 2.5 Hour Lesson: $200 (up to 50% scholarships available)*
    • 9:30 AM-Noon or 12:30 PM-3:00 PM

What’s Included

  • One-on-one adaptive lesson with a trained instructor
  • Multi-day lessons available. We will try our best to schedule the same instructor for all days, however cannot guarantee the same instructor every day

Snowbird or Alta 

  • 5.5 Hour and 2.5 Hour Lessons Available 
  • Student lift pass and 1 companion pass. Companions must accompany the lesson at all times and be able to ski safely and independently at the level of the student without assistance or instruction.
  • Equipment and helmet rentals for 2.  Rentals for Snowbird and Alta lessons must be picked up at Creekside Sports at Snowbird.
  • Lunch not provided on lessons
  • Up to 50% scholarships available

Solitude, Brighton, and Sundance 

  • 5.5 Hour lesson available only 
  • Solitude: Student lift ticket included in price
  • Brighton: ½ Price ticket must be purchased by student
  • Sundance: Student and 1 companion lift ticket included
  • Rental equipment not included in price at these resorts
  • Lunch not provided on lessons
  • Scholarships not available for these resorts

Snowshoeing will be held on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. at the Temple Quarry Trail (meet at Little Cottonwood Canyon mouth park and ride lot!) at the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon starting in January 14 through the end of February.
