Winter Programs

Skiing / Snowboarding

The ski and snowboard program aims to progress students to a level of skiing and riding independently with family or friends. Adaptive equipment includes the bi-ski, snow slider, Kart Ski, monoski, and outriggers that maximize success and learning. All instructors are PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) or AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) certified. WAS skis at Snowbird, Sundance, Alta, and other resorts upon request (some restrictions apply).

A great way to experience the mountains in the winter, snowshoeing is a favorite for groups and families to enjoy together. Snowshoes attach to hiking or snow boots, allowing the student to walk on either groomed trails or off-trail in the powder Utah is known for.

Indoor Cycling

WAS is launching a weekly indoor cycling program at our location in Murray starting January 2020. Stay tuned for details!

Seated Yoga

Our yoga program emphasizes the experience of the pose rather than achieving it. Core principles include grounding, expansion, balance and rhythm through use of various props.  Together with Intermountain Medical Center, WAS is piloting this program at Intermountain’s TOSH location in Murray. WAS hopes expand availability soon. Contact us for more information.

Full and partial scholarships are available. Advanced reservations are required for all winter activities and are based on availability.  A thorough assessment of the student is done prior to the first lesson to determine the student’s abilities and adaptive needs.
