Why I Pedal: Finding Mind, Body, and Soul Alignment with Wes Warne

For Wes Warne, WAS Director of Development, cycling is driven by passion and community. Inspired growing up by legends like Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist, and Mat Hoffman, he spent every spare moment at the skatepark, frequently returning home bruised, bloodied, and completely hooked.

One of his favorite memories is the unmatched feeling of finally landing a trick after countless failed attempts. For him, nothing compared to unlocking something you knew you could achieve with some determination, sharing those breakthroughs alongside friends as they chased their own goals (and dodging the police together a time or two along the way).

Today, that same passion lives on through mountain biking.

“I pedal for that feeling when your mind, body, and soul are aligned, that perfect moment when there’s nothing else but you, your bike, and the trail. Quiet early mornings, big climbs, rowdy descents, and making memories with friends; it’s my favorite thing in the world. I don’t know who I’d be without mountain biking in my life. I go to dirt church every chance I get.”
