Rob Carpenter: A New Chapter at WAS

We are excited to announce that starting on July 1, 2021, Rob Carpenter will become the chairman of the WAS Board of Directors. Rob is the senior vice president at Altabank and has served on the WAS Board as a member and treasurer before this role. As he steps into the role as chairman, he shares the following:

The opportunity to support the mission of Wasatch Adaptive Sports as the incoming chairman of the board is a wonderful honor.  I want to thank our outgoing chairman, Miguel Rovira, for his leadership and commitment to the mission of helping individuals of all abilities enjoy recreation.  The pandemic has presented numerous challenges and obstacles to that mission, but with Miguel’s leadership, we continue to meet that mission in a safe manner for our team and students.  WAS has never been better positioned to meet the needs of Utah’s adaptive community.

Year-round outdoor recreation has always been my passion.  It has given me the opportunity to challenge my abilities, pursue aspirational goals, and enhance my health and fitness. However, the most important aspect recreation has provided for me is the opportunity to create connections and build relationships with my family and friends.   There are so many benefits that recreation creates and it is my passion that everyone should have that opportunity.

I am looking forward to supporting the WAS mission over the upcoming year.  It takes the support of so many to make this mission possible. WAS is making a difference because of the commitment of the amazing WAS team, Snowbird, the board of directors, our students and their family and friends, corporate and public sector partners, and all of our committed donors.  It’s awesome seeing the joy and lifetime of experiences you are creating. Thank you for all you do!
