WAS Veterans

Together, we’re raising $250,000 to support Wasatch Adaptive Sports programs. Join us for the 14th annual Highly Decorated event at Snowbird on Saturday, December 12! Your participation in Highly Decorated shows how much you care about empowering Utahns with disabilities to access outdoor recreation, and we’re so grateful you’re part of this community! If you’re wondering how you can make an impact, here are three meaningful ways to help:

Bid on Auction Items:
The Highly Decorated Online Auction gives everyone a chance to support WAS while picking up some incredible gear from our in-kind sponsors. Every bid translates into more lessons, more adaptive equipment, and more opportunities for our participants.

Donate:
The demand for WAS programming continues to grow, and our biggest challenge is meeting that need. Your donation, at any level, helps expand our reach and ensures more of our neighbors in Salt Lake and Utah counties can experience the joy, connection, and confidence our programs inspire.

“I served from 1982 to 1992. I’ve accumulated quite a few disabilities, but I still wanted to get out in the world and be active. I came across through PT at the VA, Wasatch Adaptive Sports. Not too many people have gone through the time or expense to look at us veterans and say, hey, we are deserving of having something that is custom to our disability. Support Wasatch Adaptive Sports. Make a difference.”

– Oswald, Veteran & WAS Participant

“[I served] in Air Force Pararescue for 25 years. I had a lot of experience most women do not challenge their bodies to do and now I am reaping the repercussions. A lot of times, when you’re damaged, you feel very recluse, you become isolated, and you suck into depression. [Wasatch Adaptive Sports] saves our lives. It really does.”

– Diana, Veteran & WAS Participant

“I have spent the last couple of years recovering from a t-bone crash that took my legs. I had never considered a recumbent bike but now I am getting out riding even single track mountain  biking which I never thought I would do again! WAS has opened several doors since then! Their people are GREAT and the world is now full of possibilities, not roadblocks. Thank you WAS!…”
