Summer Programs

Cycling

A variety of two-wheeled bicycles, three-wheeled recumbents, adaptive children’s bikes and handcycles comprise the fleet of bikes that make this program a great option for children and adults of varying abilities. Group rides and private sessions take place throughout the week on the paved trails at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City, Legacy Parkway in Farmington, the Rail Trail in Park City or the Jordan River Parkway in Murray.

Mountain Biking

Based in Park City, our mountain bike program emphasizes safety and technique, while promoting independence and confidence. The range of wide double track trails to intermediate singletrack trails in Park city make this area a great for two-wheeled mountain bikes and One-Off Handcycles alike.

Paddle Boarding

Located at Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork Canyon, the paddle board program focuses on success found in either the sitting, kneeling or standing position. Paddling provides aerobic exercise, in addition to physical strength and mental well-being all at the base of beautiful Mt. Timapanogos.

Fishing

The fishing program emphasizes a comprehensive understanding of either fly or reel fishing. Lessons take place at Snowbird’s Austin Pond (wheelchair accessible) or at various fishing locations along the Wasatch Front. This program gets participants outdoors focusing on the strategy and technique behind the catch.

Hiking/ Orienteering

Participants enjoy the Wasatch National Forest by hiking the Barrier-Free Trail at Snowbird. This paved, wheel-chair accessible path meanders .5 miles amongst old spruce and fir trees to the observation deck overlooking Little Cottonwood Canyon. The network of dirt trails at the base of the mountain are a great hiking option as well. Our orienteering course adds a navigational component to any hike as students use a compass and map to move from point to point.

Bowling

A bi-monthly favorite for children, adults and their families, the bowling program encourages community, camaraderie, strength and overall fun. Equipment such as bowling ramps and handles make this sport accessible to individuals of all abilities.

Adaptive Yoga

Our yoga program emphasizes the experience of the pose rather than achieving it. Core principles include grounding, expansion, balance and rhythm through use of various props.

Full and partial scholarships are available for those who qualify. Advanced reservations are required for all winter and summer activities and are based on availability. Full payment is required to confirm reservation.

An assessment of the student is done prior to the first lesson or activity to determine the student’s needs.
